I'm So Glad You're Here.

Hi! I'm Katy. I'm a Brooklyn based mom who writes to make sense of motherhood. I'm a mother via domestic, transracial, open adoption. In other words, my Black children were born in the United States and we have on going contact with their first families, primarily with their birth mothers. You might think I'm sharing my motherhood with someone else. I say that a relationship with my sons' birth mothers doesn't divide my motherhood, it adds depth and perspective and multiplies the love.

I have an extensive career in the theater as an actor, teaching artist, facilitator, and arts administrator. Since adopting my children my work has been focused on motherhood, adoption education, and race. Stay tuned for more. Be well and be curious. Love to all.

Xx, Katy
